Sat Sharma, Asiea Naqash review Srinagar Master Plan

SRINAGAR, MAY 10: Minister for Housing and Urban Development, Sat Pal Sharma today chaired a high-level meeting here to take stock of Srinagar Master Plan-2035.

Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development, Asiea Naqash was also present on the occasion.

During the meeting, Sharma asked the officers to fine-tune the plan in accordance with surging population of Srinagar. He said the plan needs to encompass all aspects of modern-day facilities and future requirements.

He said that present government is focussed on equitable development of all the three regions of the State. He said Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti is personally keen to expedite and see successful implementation of the Masterplan-2035.

During the meeting, Asiea Naqash urged the officials for preservation of the natural resources while implementing the Master Plan, besides identification of land marks for commercial or residential purposes. She sought cooperation of people in successful implementation of the master-plan.

Threadbare discussions were held for sound implementation of Master plan proposals, areas notified under J&K Development Act, 1970, during the meeting.

On the occasion, concerned officials apprised the Ministers through Power Point Presentation about various aspects of the proposed Master-plan- 2035.

Calling for periodic review of the plan, Sharma directed the officers to consult local public representatives to make further improvements to it.

Financial Commissioner H&UDD, K B Agarwal, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Baseer Ahmad Khan, Secretary Irrigation and Flood Control, M. Raju, Commissioner SMC, VC LAWDA and other senior officers were present in the meeting.
