Regional Conference on “Bringing Citizens and Govt Closer – through Administrative Reforms” to be held on May 16,17 at SKICC Sgr

SRINAGAR: A two-day Regional Conference on the theme “Bringing Citizens and Government Closer – Through Administrative Reforms” will commence tomorrow on 16th, May at SKICC here.

The Regional Conference is being organized by the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG), GoI in collaboration with UT of Jammu & Kashmir.

The conference is being held in the backdrop of adoption of ‘BehtarNizam-e-Hakumat: Kashmir Aelamia’ resolution during two-day Regional Conference on ‘Replication of Good Governance Practices in Union Territory of J&K held in July, 2021 at SKICC, here.

In this regard a curtain raiser ceremony for the event was held in which Secretary, DARPG, V.Srinivas; Joint Secretary, DARPG, NBS Rajput; Director General, J&KIMPARD, Saurabh Bhagat; Secretary IT, J&K Government, Prerna Puri; Secretary ARI&T, J&K Government, Amit Sharma, Senior officers and faculty members of J&KIMPARD and officers of other allied departments participated.

During the sidelines of Curtain Raiser ceremony, a press meet was organised in which Secretary DARPG interacted with the mediapersons.

While interacting with the mediapersons, V Srinivas said that the two day Regional Conference will be inaugurated by Minister of State (Independent charge) of the Ministry of Science and Technology, Minister of State (Independent Charge) Ministry of Earth Sciences, Minister of State for PMO, Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions, MoS Department of Atomic Energy and Department of Space, Dr. Jitendra Singh alongwith Lieutenant Governor of J&K, Manoj Sinha.

The Secretary, DARPG said that during the two day Regional Conference, more than 300 delegates from PAN-India are expected to participate in the Conference. He added that delegates from 12 States/Union Territories will participate in the Conference.

During the two-day event, presentations will be made on six priority programs (In Session I-IV) from the Prime Awards for Excellence In Public Administration, 2021; Promoting “Jan Bhagidari” or People’s Participation in Poshan Abhiyan; Promoting excellence In sports and wellness through Khelo India scheme; Digital payments and good governance in PM SVANidhi Yojana; Holistic Development through One District One Product scheme; Seamless, End-to-End Delivery of Services without Human Intervention (District/Others) and Innovations (Centre, State and Districts). One Session is also on the theme “Improving e-Service Delivery in J&K.”

During the conference, a film on PM Awarded initiatives 2021, made by DAR&PG will be screened. The conference is an effort to bring the Government and Citizens closer through various administrative reforms at centre, state and district level. This is being enabled by use of digital technology, pursuing next generation reforms and innovations with policy objective of “Maximum Governance, Minimum Government”, entailing Government process Re-Engineering, Universal access to e-services, excellence in digital Initiatives at district level and excellence in adopting emerging technologies and use of ICT Management.
