Rotary Mega Health Camp: 395 surgeries performed in two days at 4 hospitals

Srinagar: On the second day of Mega Surgery Camp, the international surgeons of Rotary Club of India along with local surgeons and  staff performed 247 operations with an increase of 148 surgeries compared to the first day of camp. 

The Health Camp being held across three districts including Baramulla, Kupwara and Ganderbal is catering to the patients of   North and South Kashmir districts of Kashmir division.

A multi-speciality Surgical team of 43 expert doctors from Maharashtra, Punjab, Delhi and other states are rendering their expertise in the Rotary Health Camp.

On Thursday, Sub District Hospital Sopore recorded 82 surgeries, District Hospital Ganderbal 69, District Hospital Kupwara 52 and GMC Baramulla 44. 

Overall, the camp witnessed 94 ophthalmic surgeries, 51 Obs & Gyne, 46 Dental procedures, 26 General, 13 ENT, 11 Minor and 6 Ortho.

Under the overall supervision of Divisional Administration Kashmir, the MHC is being  smoothly conducted and has ensured all the facilities to the patients from transport to hospital stay and medicine.

The team of experts are playing a major role in making the project a historical success.

While reacting to the treatment and facilities at the camps, the patients expressed pleasure and thanked the administration for holding a massive medical Camp.

They also showed joy over the swift treatment in a short span of time by all the experts of MHC.

Pertinently, 8700 beneficiaries have been screened so far for various elective surgeries across all districts of Kashmir division which were deferred due to the current Covid 19 pandemic.
