Advisor Bhatnagar chairs BoDs meet of J&K SIDCO/SICOP

Srinagar: Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Rajeev Rai Bhatnagar today chaired the 140th Board of Directors (BoDs) meeting of J&K SIDCO at Civil Secretariat here.

The meeting was attended by Principal Secretary Industries and Commerce, Ranjan Prakash Thakur; Secretary Planning, Development and Monitoring, Sushma Chauhan; MD SIDCO/SICOP, Smita Sethi; Director I&C, Jammu, Anu Malhotra; Director I&C, Kashmir, Mehmood Ahmad Shah, other members of the board and other senior officers of the corporation both in person and through virtual mode.

During the meeting, detailed deliberations were held on different aspects of the corporation to make it one of the profit making utilities of Jammu and Kashmir.

Speaking during the meeting, Advisor Bhatnagar impressed upon the management of the corporation that modern and effective methods should be employed to make the units of corporation more vibrant and financially viable so that they can effectively contribute to the economy of J&K as well as generate employment opportunities for budding entrepreneurs.

The Advisor asked to devise a comprehensive mechanism for promotion of the industrial sector in the Union Territory so that the new entrepreneurs are given a well established ecosystem for establishing new units. 

Advisor Bhatnagar also directed the officers of the corporation that it should be ensured that all the statutory requirements are followed and adhered to by the unit holders while they carry out their routine businesses.

During the meeting, the Board took some significant decisions for the development of the corporation. 

On the occasion, MD, SIDCO, Smita Sethi gave a detailed presentation highlighting the achievements of the corporation and the future plans as well.

Meanwhile, Advisor Bhatnagar also chaired the 91st BoDs meet of J&K SICOP at Civil Secretariat here.

During the meeting, the BoDs deliberated on various issues pertaining to the SICOP and took some important decisions for improving the financial and developmental aspects of the corporation. 

While chairing the meeting, Advisor Bhatnagar impressed upon the management of the corporation that the outstanding amount with government departments should be addressed immediately and concrete steps should be taken for clearance of the same.

The Advisor asked the officers of the corporation that the staff and other assets of the corporation should be utilised effectively and the roles of staff should be re-defined for the development of the corporation.

Advisor Bhatnagar also appreciated the role of SICOP in improving the industrial sector of J&K and highlighted that in coming years the corporation will change the Industrial ecosystem of the entire Jammu and Kashmir.
