Fire breaks out at LJHP store building Uri; sub-station Reasi

Baramulla/Jammu:  Fire broke out in a complex of Lower Jehlum Hydro Electric Power Project (LJHP) in Peerniya area of Boniyar in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Tuesday morning.

Sources said that people living nearby the colony, and fire tenders from Baramulla reached the spot to douse the flames but the fire couldn’t be controlled until the entire building was destroyed.

“The building was used as a store in which large quantity of expensive electric material was dumped. All the material was reduced to ashes,” said the sources.

Smelling rat, the people of the area have demand a probe into the incident while as police has registered a case of fire incident.

Meanwhile, fire broke out at the Sub Station of NHPC in Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir today, disrupting electricity supply, police said.

Fire tenders were pressed to douse the fire at the NHPC sub station at Bidda in Reasi early this morning, they said.

Power supply was affected due to damage caused to electric equipment and machinery, police added.
