Director Agriculture visits Seed Processing Plant Padgampora

SRINAGAR: The Director Agriculture Kashmir, Chowdhary Mohammad Iqbal today visited Seed Processing Plant/ Seed Multiplication Farm Padgampora.

During the visit, the Director inspected different sections of the Seed Processing Plant and had interaction with the technical experts and concerned officers of the Processing Plant.

While expressing his views, Director Agriculture reiterated the Department’s commitment to ensure the availability of quality seed to the farming community well in time. He asked the concerned officers to put in all the efforts to make sure that farmers and other stakeholder’s interests are served by the Department.

Iqbal highlighted the importance of adoption and introduction of real time technologies in the seed processing operations.

The Director also took stock of the preparations for ensuring the availability and distribution of different varieties of Paddy seed to the farming community of the region. He directed the officers that the seed (Paddy seed) must be made available to the farming community well before the scheduled time.

Earlier, Manager Seed Processing Plant/S.M.Farm Padgampora Shahnawaz Ahmad Shah gave a detailed presentation of the functioning of the installation. He apprised the visiting dignitary about the various interventions adopted by the Department at the processing plant.

Director was accompanied by Joint Director Agriculture Extension, Joint Director Agriculture Inputs, Joint Director Agriculture Farms, Deputy Director Agriculture Planning and other senior officers of the department.
