Jammu: After finding mention of his suggestions in the Awaam ki Awaaz radio programme by none other than Lieutenant Governor himself, Mir Audil from Lasjan, Srinagar felt elated and hopeful of these being implemented in near future.

Audil’s immediate reaction in his own words is, “a big thanks to LG sahib for considering my views worthy for mentioning in his address”. At the same time he expects their implementation on ground for futuristic development in the UT.

Audil, who is a trained dentist, says that his concern is the haphazard scenario of constructions without giving heed to overall sustainability. He suggests for adoption of a sustainable housing policy by government to enable optimum use of resources by people of J&K.

Apart from this he gave suggestions for sustainable road network. He pleaded for treatment of Sewerage water before throwing it into the river. He also has plan to offer for decongestion of city and simultaneously saving it from traffic snarls.

Few other suggestions included provisions of play fields, schools and high-speed internet in every habitation for making the quality of life plausible here in J&K.

Audil describes Awaam ki Awaaz as a quite innovative platform for listening to suggestions and ideas of common people. He mentions that commitment of present dispensation for these publicly important sustainable development initiatives is required for their implementation on ground.
