Srinagar: A 50-year-old Beacon labourer died on spot after he was run over by a speedy passenger bus in Bramri in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Wednesday morning, reports said.

Quoting a Beacon Incharge, news agency GNS reported that a group of labourers was erecting a sign board along highway in Bramri, when an overspeeding passenger bus fatally hit a labourer resulting in his on-spot death.

Another labourer also received minor injuries in the incident, the Beacon Incharge said.

A police official identified the deceased as Ghulam Mohuiddin Shiekh, son of Abdul Khaliq Shiekh, a resident of Kralpora area of the district.

A case under relevant sections has been registered in this regard and further investigation is underway, the official added.
