Besides, Coordinator Women Wing & Party Social Media Convener Sujada Bashir, Provincial Secretary Afroza Khan, District President Srinagar Iram, Joint Secretary Srinagar Jameela Khan, Coordinator Srinagar Rafiqa & District Organizer Srinagar Saroj Khan were also present.

Addressing the meeting, Dilshad Shaheen said that the recent spike in domestic violence cases across Kashmir valley is extremely worrisome.

“Many reports about cruel domestic violence cases from various districts of Kashmir division have reached our grievances cell. Such a trend is extremely troubling and people must come forward to stop such evil practices. Women are no commodity or possession but rather they too are human beings who should be entitled to live a dignified life,” she said.

Shaheen asserted that all the women who are being mistreated by their spouses or in-laws must never keep silent. “Apni Party Women wing shall deliver full assistance to such distressed sisters and daughters through our Sahuliyat media platform from where help could reach to them at an earliest.

She said that a society will continue to fall into the abyss of ignorance unless it begins to respect women folk and give them their deserving place in the society.
