Elaborate arrangements in place to combat prophesied 3rd wave of COVID-19: Advisor Bhatnagar

Srinagar: Advisor to the Lieutenant Governor, Rajiv Rai Bhatnagar Saturday said that elaborate arrangements have been put in place by the administration to tackle the prophesied 3rd wave of COVID-19.

Talking to the media on the sidelines of a function at SKICC here, Bhatnagar said the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir has effectively combated the 2nd wave of pandemic while the administration is ready to tackle the possible 3rd wave.

He said almost hundred percent vaccination of the 45-plus age group has been done in many districts while inoculation is being done on priority in the remaining districts.

He said the administration is also preparing and making sure that the vaccination is done at quicker pace.

Bhatnagar also appealed to the people to adopt COVID-appropriate behavior to avoid falling prey to the deadly pandemic.

“It’s also very important and I appeal to everyone to adopt COVID-appropriate behavior, take all precautions like wearing of face masks, maintaining social distance and handwashing and more importantly getting vaccinated at the first opportunity,” he added
