Dheeraj Gupta reviews development scenario of urban areas at Baramulla

Baramulla: Principal Secretary, Housing and Urban Development Department, Dheeraj Gupta, accompanied by Director ULB and other senior functionaries today paid visit to Baramulla where he chaired a meeting to review overall development scenario of urban areas of the district.

District Development Commissioner, Bhupinder Kumar, ADDC, JDP, ADC, PRIs, Chief Executive Officers of MCs, district and sectoral officers attended the meeting.

DDC briefed the meeting about the status of several development projects and issues associated with urban areas through power point presentation. He also highlighted several demands and sought their timely redressal for smooth development of urban regions.

After taking a thorough review of various programmes and schemes, Principal Secretary stressed to ensure that all the eligible beneficiaries are covered under welfare schemes like PM Awas Yojana (U), social security schemes for street vendors and others working in informal sector.

Meanwhile, Principal Secretary directed the concerned to ensure effective sanitation through proper waste management adding that sanitation of our surroundings is crucial at this critical juncture emerged out of COVID-19 pandemic. He informed that all the necessities for establishing solid waste management plants in all the municipalities of the district have been completed and the work on such projects shall be started shortly.
