Covid-19 Surge: Routine surgeries in all hospitals across Jammu division deferred

Jammu: The authorities in Jammu province have deferred all surgeries in all Government as well as private hospitals across Jammu division amid surge in Covid-19 cases.

An order issued by Divisional Commissioner Jammu, while ordering deferment of the surgeries, however excluded cases having pressing medical reasons and the benefits of such procedure outweigh the risk related to COVID-19 situation and its fallout.

The order states that coronavirus cases are on rise and to keep this in mind, all elective and routine surgeries are deferred across Jammu division.

Divisional Commissioner has also asked the district magistrates and chief medical officers to keep track on the implementation of this order in all districts of Jammu.
