41 more people die of COVID-19 in J&K; 3571 new infections reported

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday reported 3,571 new COVID-19 cases while 41 more people succumbed to the disease during past 24 hours, official said.

The fresh cases comprise 2,421 in Kashmir division and 1,150 in Jammu in the last 24 hours as on 5 pm today, government data revealed.

As for the 41 fresh fatalities, 28 of them have been reported in Jammu and 13 in Kashmir — taking the overall death count in J&K to 2,370 — 1,424 in Kashmir, and 946 in Jammu.

Officials also said that during past 24 hours, 1453 COVID-19 patients have recovered and were discharged from various hospitals. These include 605 persons from Jammu division and 848 from Kashmir Valley.

According to the daily bulletin on novel Coronavirus (Covid-19), out of 183486 positive cases detected thus far since the beginning of the pandemic, 32421 are ‘active positive’ currently, while 148695 have recovered and 2370 have died.

The bulletin also said that out of the 7348647 test results available, 7165161 samples have been tested as negative till May 02, 2021.

Till date 1822566 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 94636 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 32421 in isolation and 120039 in home surveillance. Besides, 1573100 persons have completed their surveillance period, the bulletin informed.
