Srinagar: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Friday said Jammu and Kashmir is witnessing rapid socio-economic growth and significant developmental progress, as he extended greetings to the people on the eve of the 80th Independence Day.
In his Independence Day message, Sinha said the Union Territory has received a major developmental push, with several large infrastructure projects nearing completion and work progressing on key initiatives across sectors.
“Work on key infrastructure initiatives is advancing at a swift pace, ensuring that the benefits of development reach every corner of the region. I am confident that we will scale new heights of prosperity in the near future,” he said.
The Lieutenant Governor called upon people to work collectively towards building a strong, self-reliant and developed Jammu and Kashmir and urged citizens to contribute towards maintaining peace and prosperity.
He expressed confidence that Jammu and Kashmir would continue its developmental journey and make a significant contribution to the vision of a developed India.
Paying tributes to leaders and martyrs of the freedom struggle, Sinha conveyed his greetings to the people on the occasion of Independence Day.
The Lieutenant Governor also expressed gratitude to the armed forces, paramilitary forces, Jammu and Kashmir Police and other security agencies for their role in safeguarding the country’s sovereignty and integrity. He paid homage to security personnel who laid down their lives in the line of duty.
Sinha also extended greetings to farmers, workers, members of the business community, scientists, teachers, innovators, artisans, civil society groups, women and youth, acknowledging their contribution to the development of the Union Territory.
Emphasising national unity, he said the country’s diversity remains its strength and called upon people to uphold unity and integrity.
