Srinagar: Ganderbal Police has filed a chargesheet against a militant of Hizbul Mujahideen and three militant associates, a police spokesperson said Thursday.

He said the case (FIR No 199/2020) of Police Station Ganderbal, pertains to the busting of a militant module on September 14, 2020, by police along with the troops of 5RR, during which three “militant associates” identified as Arshid Ahmad Khan, son of Mohammad Altaf Khan of Wayil Wudder; Majid Rasool Rather, son of Ghulam Rasool Rather, and Mohammad Aasif Najar, son of Abdul Razaq Najar, both residents of Beehama Ganderbal, of proscribed Hizbul Mujahideen outfit were arrested.

“Investigation conducted revealed that the arrested trio had came into contact with a Pak-based Kashmiri militant Fayaz Ahmad Khan, son of Abdul Dawood Khan of Gutlibagh, and were being handled by him from across to take up various militant and subversive activities in the district,” spokesman said.

He said after conclusion of investigations, necessary government sanction was obtained and accordingly chargesheet has been filed before the competent court by police under section 7/25 IAA, 13, 18, 20, 23, 39, UA(P)A against four accused persons.
