IGP Kashmir interacts with probationary IPS Officers at PCR Kashmir

Srinagar: Inspector General of Police Kashmir Zone, Vijay Kumar, interacted with a group of 33 IPS probationary officers of 2018 batch in the conference hall of Police Control Room Kashmir.

“On the occasion, IGP Kashmir and DIG CKR Srinagar briefed the probationary officers about the recent challenges being faced by Police in view of terrorism, fresh recruitment of youths into terrorists ranks, new burial management, law & order issues and other security issues in Kashmir valley. Besides roles of CAPFs were also highlighted in detail like performing L&O, ROP duties, VIP security, election duties, Amarnath Yatra duties and guarding vital installations,” said a police spokesperson.

“IGP Kashmir briefed them about modes of intelligence collections like Humint, Techint and intelligence gathered during investigation of terror-related cases and timely launching anti-terrorist operations with other security forces to achieve the desired result. On border management, he also appraised them about issues emerging due to ceasefire violation on the Line of Control (LoC) and the problems faced by police and civil administration in dealing with the situation,” the spokesperson said.

“The probationary IPS officers were also apprised about the measures being taken to strengthen the anti-infiltration grid on LoC by the Army. DIG CKR Srinagar Amit Kumar shared his experiences while leading anti-terrorist operations from the front,” he said.

“Moreover, SSP Srinagar also presented a detailed presentation about the role of J&K Police in maintenance of law & order and fight against terrorism. SP Operation Srinagar also gave a detailed presentation on technical surveillance, cyber crimes and other challenges faced by Police at the ground level. Later on, IGP Kashmir also replied to the several questions of probationary IPS officers,” he added.
