Div Com Jammu discusses arrangements for Red Cross Mela-cum Raffle Draw 2021

JAMMU: Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, Sanjeev Verma, who is also Chairman of Regional Red Cross Society Jammu, today discussed the arrangements for the annual Red Cross Mela-cum Raffle draw 2021 here at a meeting of IRCS Committee.

The meeting was attended by Secretary, Indian Red Cross Society Jammu, Vinod Malhotra and members of Red Cross Society.

Threadbare discussions were held with regard to printing of tickets, number of prizes, sale of Raffle

Draw tickets, sponsorships and make other necessary arrangements. The members gave their valuable suggestions for making the event a grand success.

During the meeting the members collectively decided that the Red Cross mela would be held in the month of November 2021 at Gulshan Ground Jammu.

It was also collectively decided that the number of prizes in raffle draw would be increased this year as compared to the past. Many other issues were discussed and important decisions were taken in the committee meeting.

The meeting was informed that the objective of organizing the Red Cross Mela is to create awareness among the general public regarding Red Cross Society and to generate funds for the welfare activities of the society. It was further informed that the funds generated would be used for giving financial assistance to poor and treatments of poor patients.

The Div Com stressed for greater involvement of social organizations and youth in extending service to downtrodden and those facing distress due to manmade or natural calamities besides providing services to destitute, orphans and needy people.
