Kulgam gunfight: Civilian killed, another injured

Srinagar: Another civilian was killed in ongoing clashes near encounter at Khudwani area of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Wednesday.

Sources said that youth took to streets and clashed with the forces to disrupt the anti-militant operation going on since late last night in Wani Mohalla of Khudwani.

The deceased, identified as Bilal Ahmad Dar (13) of Kujjar village in Qaimoh tehsil of the district, was declared brought dead at sub-district hospital Qaimoh.

“He had suffered a bullet injury in his abdomen,” said the doctor.

Meanwhile, the authorities have ordered the closure of all schools and colleges in Kulgam district in view of the ongoing gunfight and the clashes.

The gunfight that broke out at 11 pm has left an army trooper dead and two forces’ personnel injured so far.
