Advisors to Lt Governor greet people on Lohri, Makar Sankranti

JAMMU: Advisors to Lieutenant Governor greeted people on the auspicious occasion of Lohri and Makar Sankranti and hoped that the festivals will herald growth and prosperity.

In his message, the Advisor said that these festivals are an occasion to celebrate the bounty of nature and I convey my greetings and best wishes to all the people of Jammu and Kashmir and wish them every prosperity and happiness.

The Advisor hoped that the celebrations reinforce the ties that bind us together in peace and harmony and herald the beginning of further growth and progress and inspire us to work together for the overall development of our society.

The Advisor noted that Makar Sankranti, falling on January 14, indicates the beginning of a traditionally auspicious period of the year. Lohri, the harvest festival that was celebrated on January 13, is an occasion to celebrate the onset of warmth and contribution of farmers and traditional ethos, culture and economy.

Meanwhile, Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, Rajeev Rai Bhatnagar extended his warm greetings to the people of Jammu and Kashmir on the auspicious occasion of Lohri-‘Festival of New Harvest’.

In his greeting message, Advisor Bhatnagar observed that festivals are integral component of our composite cultural heritage which strengthen the bonds of communal harmony and promote amity and brotherhood among the people.

The Advisor also extended his greetings to the people on the occasion of Makar Sakranti which will be celebrated tomorrow.

Praying for peace, prosperity and development J&K, Advisor Bhatnagar said that the celebrations of the festivals bind all sections of our society together with the spirit of love, compassion and joy.

The Advisor also prayed for peace, prosperity and progress of entire Jammu and Kashmir.
