Baramulla: At least three residential houses and a government school building was damaged after lightning struck in Ghati area of Uri town on Monday night.

Locals said that three residential houses belong to Moze Ali Shah, son of Mir Ali Shah, Sakhawat Hussain and Manzoor Hussain, sons of Syed Hussain, residents of Kala Ghati Uri were damaged on Monday night. A government primary school building was also damaged in a lightning incident.

Meanwhile, Zonal Educational Officer Chandanwari Ghulam Jeelani Khawaja said that he is on way to Ghati to access the situation of the said school, adding that the arrangements will be made for the students till the school building is renovate.

However, there was no report of any injuries.
