Srinagar, December 06: The students who have appeared in the class 12 improvement exam said that they may miss out on the chance to secure admission in foreign universities as Jammu and Kashmir State Board of School Education (JKBOSE) has failed to announce the result of the said examination.

“After passing our class 12 examination last year, we applied for admission in many foreign universities for which we required 90 percent above marks. We had scored below 90 percent marks in class 12 and therefore applied for the improvement exam,” said a student Sheikh Daman Alam.

“The JKBOSE was supposed to conduct the improvement exam in the month of March 2020, but the same was postponed due to COVID-19 pandemic. Finally, the said examination was conducted in September 2020,” he said.

“Due to the rescheduling of the examination, we couldn’t apply for admission in foreign universities since the application deadlines had already passed,” he added.

Another student said that they are about to lose another chance to apply in other foreign universities because of the delay in result announcement. “We approached the JKBOSE officials with a request to announce the results as soon as possible, who at that time had said that it will be released till 15 November, but wasn’t,” she said.

The students said that the delay in result announcement is obstructing them from pursuing higher education. “We request the authorities to announce the results as soon as possible to save our precious academic year,” they said.
