SC seeks reply of Centre, J&K on plea against Saifuddin Soz’s house detention
FacebookTwitterWhatsapp

Srinagar: Senior congress leader and former union minister, Prof. Saifuddin Soz,  has cautioned people against joining BJP and said that those who had recently joined BJP must know that it was the most disruptionist and deeply communal and sectarian group in India.

In a press release issued here, Soz said that MoS Jatindra Singh had only displayed his ignorance when he said that Kashmir had gained peace and development after the abrogation of Article 370. “This is a blatant lie and extreme falsehood. The people of Kashmir have already rejected this falsehood with contempt,” Soz said adding that the reality was that the people of the J&K, especially the people of Kashmir, were extremely angry after the abrogation of Article 370 and that this anger was not going to subside in future.

“A vast majority of the state have resolved to fight for their rights in spite of the odds in their way. There is, however, a little danger that a small (negligible) number of Kashmiris will somehow believe the propaganda of small timers in the BJP, who are trying to mislead the people of Kashmir by saying that the Statehood would be restored, early.  Statehood or No-Statehood, Kashmiris want restoration of Article 370 of the Constitution of India,” Soz said in the press release.

He further went on to add that the real significant thing was the restoration of the State’s Autonomy enshrined in Article 370 of the Constitution. “It may mean a struggle for Kashmiris, but it is the struggle worth fighting’” Soz concluded.
