Kulgam: A 43-year-old woman from Kulgam district was killed Tuesday afternoon after a ‘mentally-challenged’ man hit her with a stick.
Quoting police sources, news agency KNO reported that a Mehmooda Akhter, wife of Muzafar Ahmad Najar of Shurat area of Kulgam, was critically injured after she was hit with a stick by a ‘mentally-challenged’ man identified as Ishtiyaq Ahmad Guroo.
Akhter was immediately taken to District Hospital Kulgam where doctors declared her brought dead, an official said.
The official added that a case has been registered under relevant sections of law in this regard.
