ACB conducts surprise check of Soil and Water Conservation dept officials in Doda

Srinagar: Anti Corruption Bureau has chargesheeted two Excise and Taxation officials in a corruption case registered in 2015.

In a press release here, Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) said those chargesheeted include Naseer Ahmad, the then Sub Inspector, and Manzoor Ahmad, the then Excise Guard, who were posted at the Toll Post Lower Munda Anantnag in 2015 when the case was registered.

The officials were chargesheeted in the Court of Special Judge Anti-Corruption Anantnag, after inquiry against the revealed that they were looting innocent drivers by abuse of their official position and charging Rs 1500 to Rs 3000 per truckload as toll charges against  the permissible amount of Rs 600 per vehicle under rules.
