Police public meeting held in Budgam

Srinagar: A police public meeting was organised today by Budgam Police at Police Post Pakherpora which was chaired by SDPO Chrar I Sharief Ali Mohammad Dar.

A police spokesman in a statement issued today said that a large number of respectable citizens of Pakherpora and adjoining areas, traders federation, transporters association and members of Auqaf committee Shrine Pakherpora participated in the meeting. SHO PS Chrar I Sharief Zahoor Ahmad and DO PP Pakherpora Imtiaz Ahmad were also present on the occasion.

Many issues were raised by the participants including expansion/ cleanliness of bus stand Pakherpora, up-gradation of Police Post Pakherpora to Police Station and up-gradation of Middle School Pakherpora to High School etc. People were also demanding merger of Pakherpora with district Pulwama for the convenience of general masses.

The officers present in the meeting heard patiently the grievances of participants. Some grievances pertaining to police were solved on spot and other grievances pertaining to civil departments were forwarded to the concerned for their early redressal.

The participants were requested to cooperate with police in eradicating the drug menace and other social crimes in Pakherpora and adjoining areas.

The meeting ended on a positive note and the participants thanked the police for organising such meetings.
