Merit based centralised admissions start for various Paramedical, Nursing Courses

JAMMU : A meeting was held today in the office chamber of President J&K Paramedical Council, Dr Nasib Chand Digra, to discuss various issues pertaining to J&K Paramedical Council.

Among others, the meeting was attended by Dr A.S. Bhatia Controller of examination J&K Paramedical Council Jammu and Dr Sandeep Singh Registrar J&K Paramedical Council.

The Registrar J&K Paramedical Council informed that in a significant development, Board of Professional Entrance Examination (BOPEE) has issued provisional Merit list of candidates for admission to Female Multipurpose Health Worker (FMPHW)/Male Multipurpose Health Worker (MMPHW) courses in various Government/Private run Paramedical/Nursing Institutions.

With this development, Merit based centralized admissions to various Paramedical Courses has finally begun. The proposal for Merit based Centralised admissions was submitted by J&K Paramedical Council to the Financial Commissioner Health and Medical Education, Atal Dullo, who approved it.

Dr A.S. Bhatia briefed about the conduct of the pending examination. He disclosed that almost Ten Thousand (10,000) candidates had appeared in theory examination conducted in the month of October – November 2019, while due to the Covid Pandemic the practical examinations could not be conducted. He informed that the pending examinations are being conducted in a phased manner after following all the standing operating procedures.

Dr N.C. Digra President J&K Paramedical Council directed the Controller examination for smooth conduct of the pending examination in a phased manner. He also directed Registrar J&K Paramedical Council to communicate with the Principals of Government Medical Colleges to chalk out a plan for smooth conduct of classes of B.Sc Paramedical courses for session 2020-21, once they are started. President thanked Financial Commissioner Atal Dullo for unending support in according approvals to major new projects undertaken by J&K Paramedical Council. He further thanked Chairman BOPEE, Dr Sunil Gupta Controller Examinations BOPEE and other official for starting/smooth conduct of the process.
