However, this year the department has said that the efforts were being made for completion of Aadhaar enrolment of all students and teachers.

The official documents available with Kashmir News Observer (KNO), reveals that only 58 per cent Aadhaar enrolment of students and teachers has been completed in Jammu and Kashmir.

“Moreover, two vendors have been selected through a formal e-tendering process to enroll a pending student population,” it reads.

Besides, Aadhaar enrolment issue, an official of the department said that the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) has advised the JK authorities to lay focus on provision of ramps for Children with Special Needs (CWSN), functional CWSN friendly toilets in schools and provision of Aids and appliances for CWSN.

“UT was suggested to analyze National Achievement Survey (NAS) results and provide interventions to improve learning outcomes of the students,” said an official privy to the development.

Pertinently, in the year 2017, the Jammu and Kashmir government started the Aadhaar enrolment drive for nearly 14 lakh school children in the erstwhile State. (KNO)
