Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir reported seven more deaths due to covid-19 in past 24 hours.
The deceased include a 65-year-old man who died while his sample for the virus was being taken and a CRPF Sub Inspector posted with 18th battalion at Uranhal Kulgam.
The fresh deaths have taking the toll due to Covid-19 in J&K to 188; 171 from Kashmir and 17 from Jammu division, sources said.
The deaths include two persons, both aged 55 years, from Nikat Arbal and Litter Pulwama respectively, CRPF trooper posted in Kulgam, 70-year-old man from Handwara, 73-year-old woman from Soibugh Budgam, 45-year-old from Sopore and a 65-year-old man from Rawalpora Srinagar who died while his sampling was being done at CD hospital, one of the exclusive facilities for the management of the covid-19 patients here.
Srinagar district with 46 deaths has the highest fatalities followed by Baramulla (35), Kulgam (21), Shopian (16), Anantnag (14), Budgam (14), Jammu (10), Kupwara (11), Pulwama (6), Bandipora (3), Ganderbal (4) and Doda (2) while one death each has been reported from Poonch, Udhampur, Rajouri and Kathua.
Meanwhile, The total number of Covid-19 patients reached 10827 in Jammu and Kashmir as 314 new positive cases were reported on Monday (89 from Jammu and 225 from Kashmir division).
The infected include 26 CRPF personnel, four employees of High Court and a 35-day-old newborn besides others.
Officials said that 116 more Covid-19 patients have recovered and were discharged from various hospitals, 63 from Kashmir and 53 from Kashmir division, taking the total number of recovered persons to 6095.
They said that out of 10827 positive cases, 4545 are Active Positive, 6095 have recovered and 187 have died, adding, out of 459703 test results available, 448876 samples have been tested as negative till July 13, 2020.

Nursing home in Jammu sealed after inpatient tests positive
Srinagar/Jammu: A massive sanitization process has been started at Police headquarters Srinagar after a police officer was tested positive on Monday, a top police officer said.
“The test samples taken of an officer came positive today following which a massive sanitization process has been started at the PHQ Srinagar in Hyderpora area of Srinagar,” KNO quoted a Police officer as saying.
Meanwhile, officials said senior officers have been advised to avoid attending office for a few days as a precautionary measure.
“The reports that PHQ has been completely closed are not true. It’s a central office and can’t be shut fully,” an official said.
Meanwhile, a private nursing home in Jammu was sealed for sanitisation on Monday after a pregnant woman admitted to the facility tested positive for COVID-19, officials said.
All medical staff and patients of the nursing home located in the Tallab Tillo area of the city are being tested for the disease as a precautionary measure, the officials said.
They said priority would be given to those who were in direct contact with the COVID-positive patient.
The building is being sanitised, and random sampling will be done before the nursing home is opened to the public again, the officials added.
Meanwhile, Arnia police station in the outskirts of Jammu was closed for visitors after an officer posted there tested positive for COVID-19, an official said.
This is the second police station in Jammu district to be declared “out of bounds” following detection of COVID cases.
On Sunday, Janipur police station in the city was closed after an officer tested positive for the disease there.
