JAMMU: Director General of Police, J&K, Dilbag Singh flanked by children of Police Housing Colony, inaugurated open air gym at Gulshan Ground Jammu.

On this occasion IGP Jammu Mukesh Singh, SSP Jammu Shridhar Patil, AIG (Welfare/Comm.) PHQ Manoj Pandit SP (Hqrs.) Jammu Raja Adil Hameed, SP (South) Deepak Digra  and other jurisdictional officers were present.

The DGP after inauguration interacted with the children of the Police Housing Colony and advised them to take full advantage of the machines which have been installed. He said that open air gyms have been installed in various cities across the country and provide a good facility to the people particularly the fitness enthusiasts near their homes in an open and natural environment with fresh air around. He said that the Jammu and Kashmir Police plans to have such facilities at other places in Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. He also hoped that similar facility will come up shortly in Police Housing Colony, Bemina Srinagar as well.

He sought technical details and maintenance requirement on the spot from the officers. He complimented District Police Jammu for completing the project and hoped that other districts will also come up with projects plans which will benefit the general community.

There are about 19 units which include Twister, Abb Machine, Shouder Press, Chest Press, Rowing, Stepper, Walker, Abb Shaper, and Spider for exercising practice of different parts of body from hand to feet. Moreover one Gaxibo, one Children Slider, LED lights and Iron benches etc have also been installed in the open air gym.
