NC Minority Cell condemns killing of Sarpanch, demands probe

Jammu: National Conference Minority Cell on Tuesday strongly condemned the killing of Sarpanch Ajay Pandita (Bharti) in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district, describing the act as inhuman and barbaric.

In a joint statement, NC Minority Cell leaders expressed shock and anguish over the killing of Ajay Pandita and demanded a probe in the matter so that stern action is taken against the culprits involved in the gruesome act.

They also demanded that all the public representatives should be provided security and the government should declare ex-gratia for the kin of slain Sarpanch.

Expressing solidarity with the family of slain Sarpanch, the statement said although no amount of money can compensate the loss for the family, however, the government must provide immediate compensation to the victim’s family and provide a job to the next of kin of slain Sarpanch.
