Coronavirus: DC Budgam inspects arrangements at Sgr Airport

BUDGAM, MARCH 07: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Budgam, Tariq Hussain Ganai inspected the arrangements put in place at Srinagar International Airport to tackle threat posed by Corona virus, here today.

DC Budgam was accompanied by CMO Srinagar, Talat Jabeen, DIO Budgam Tajamul Yousuf, Tehsildar Budgam and other concerned officials.

The DC was informed that passengers arriving at airport are screened and checked for fever, cough and cold, before allowing them to proceed to their respective destinations, besides putting in place all other preventive measures.

The screening process is intensified at all entry points and enhanced surveillance is being carried out in form of registration of phone numbers, signatures and residential addresses. The passengers are asked about their travel history and symptoms, if any.

He was further informed that isolation ward has also been set up at airport and the passengers coming from 12 affected countries are directed to report at Foreign Registration counter.

It is pertinent to mention that 29 flights operate on daily basis at Srinagar International Airport, carrying around 3000 passengers.
