Dir Agri reviews achievements uncer CAPEX Budget 2019-20

SRINAGAR, MARCH 7: Director Agriculture Kashmir Altaf Aijaz Andrabi today chaired a meeting of the senior officers to review the physical and financial achievements registered under Capex budget and centrally sponsored schemes.

Director also reviewed preparation for Kharief season, arrangements and availability of seeds of cereal, vegetable and fodder, providing of spawn to the mushroom growers on subsidized cost, achievement registered under Kissan Credit Card Scheme, incentive transfer to the growers and farmers through direct benefit mode (DBT).

All Joint Directors, Divisional Officers and Chief Agricultures of Kashmir valley attended the meeting.

On the occasion, Director Agriculture instructed the field functionaries to remain in contact with the farmers and keep them informed about latest farm methodologies.

Director Agriculture stressed on strengthening of Farm Produce Organizations (FPOs) and giving boost to marketing so that role of intermediates is minimized and farmers get a better income.

While highlighting need of quality seeds, he instructed the Divisional Seed Certification officer to inspect the Seed Villages regularly so that farming community get disease free and quality seed.

Agriculture Chemist apprised the Director Agriculture Kashmir that presently all 30 molecules of pesticides being used by the farmers are analysed at quality control lab Srinagar for effective control of spurious pesticides.

Later Director Agriculture Kashmir held a public grievances Darbar at Agriculture Complex Lalmandi and assured people that their genuine demands will be fulfilled in phases and their greviances redressed on priority.
