Secy GAD visits Baramulla, reviews progress under TAD programme

BARAMULLA, FEBRUARY 29: Secretary, General Administration Department (GAD), Dr Farooq Ahmad Lone, who is also the Prabhari Officer for Aspirational District Baramulla today chaired a meeting of concerned officers here to review the progress made in different indicators identified under the centrally sponsored “Transformation of Aspirational Districts (TAD)” programme.

Dr Lone stressed on achieving the saturated results within the shortest possible time frame for which he directed to work in synergy and coordination.  He also assured that every bottleneck, if any, shall be sorted out within the stipulated timeframe. Moreover, he called for mobilizing available resources for obtaining the productive results.

On the occasion, District Development Commissioner, Baramulla, Dr G N Itoo briefed about the progress cum performance made in the identified sectors viz Health and Nutrition, Education, Agriculture and Water Resources, Financial Inclusion and Basic Infrastructure through a power point presentation. He presented detailed information about these indicators and said that district has recorded remarkable achievements in some sectors besides he highlighted various issues hampering the path of developmental activities.

Additional Deputy Commissioner, Baramulla, Mohammad Ahsan Mir, Joint Director Planning, heads of various concerned departments among others attended the meeting.

Earlier, the Secretary in presence of DDC distributed some farm machinery items among the farmers. The farm equipment, sponsored by Agriculture department includes 01 Motorized Vending Cart, 02 Motorized Power Weeder and 05 Hybrid Vegetable Seed kits. Also 08 authority letters of tractors, weeders and other farming equipment were distributed among the farmers that were sponsored by Horticulture department. The items were distributed under the Capex budget.

Moreover, the Secretary formally kick-started the backyard plantation drive under which about 40000 plant saplings shall be distributed among 10000 families.
