Dr Kotwal inaugurates NGDRS workshop cum training progamme

JAMMU, FEBRUARY 24: Inspector General Registration, Financial Commissioner Revenue, Dr Pawan Kotwal, today inaugurated workshop cum training programme on National Generic Document Registration System (NGDRS) in Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.

The workshop was organized by Department of Registration JK in collaboration with National Informatics Centre (NIC) JK and Scientists from NIC SDU Pune.

Pertinently, NGDRS is a system for land record maintenance and registration developed by the department of land resources of Government of India and National Informatics Centre (NIC) which provides infrastructure to help support delivery of Government. The IT services and delivery of some of the initiatives of Digital India, the system will enable to maintain a uniform land record registration system.

While speaking at the inaugural session, Dr Kotwal said that we are entering in a new era of technology and it is the endeavor of the department to keep pace with the present day technological innovations to take its working towards huge success. He said that once the system is implemented, the property buyers will not have to visit the registration office again and again to get their property registered.

He further said that the entire process, right from applying for registry to paying stamp duty and court fee will be made online.

“People will get an appointment date on which they will have to appear at the Registrar’s office, only for the final signing of documents and registration”, he added. The NGDRS system would be able to help property buyers know the circle rate for land across JK besides understanding the type of land, Dr Kotwal said adding that any person can assess the website where stamp and duty rates are notified.

Divisional Commissioner, Sanjeev verma, also spoke on the subject. He expressed hope that the workshop would be of great help for the participants to further develop their skills in the field.

Additional Commissioner Revenue, Nazir Ahmad Baba; Registrars from Kathua, Udhampur, Samba, Doda, Ramban, Poonch, Rajouri;  Sub Registrars from  R S Pura, Jammu Khas, Jammu South, Jammu North, Marh, Akhnoor, Khour, Chowki Choura, Samba, Hiranagar, Bani, Basohli, Billawar ; Regional Director S&LR Jammu, Principal RTI Jammu; Scientists from NIC SDU Pune and NIC J&K  besides various senior officials of the department attended the workshop.
