Jammu: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will take its ‘Loktantra Bachao, Arajakta Hatao’ campaign to every district and Assembly constituency in Jammu and Kashmir through marches, youth conventions and public outreach programmes, J&K BJP president and Rajya Sabha MP Sat Sharma said on Thursday.

Chairing an organisational review meeting at the party headquarters in Trikuta Nagar, Sharma said the campaign would include district-level padyatras, Yuva Sammelans, community outreach programmes and constituency-wise conferences involving prominent citizens.

He accused the Congress and its INDIA alliance partners of spreading misinformation and creating political instability through what he termed baseless propaganda. He also alleged that the Opposition was misleading people over the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls and using the issue to create political controversies.

Sharma directed district units, party departments and various organisational wings to ensure wider public participation and set measurable targets for the campaign.

He said the party would counter the Opposition through public engagement and awareness programmes, adding that the campaign should strengthen its grassroots presence across all Assembly segments.

The BJP president also asked the party’s media, social media and information technology teams to coordinate their communication efforts, highlight organisational activities and counter what the party describes as misinformation with facts.

The meeting also reviewed ongoing organisational programmes and activities being undertaken by party office-bearers and various wings.

Senior leaders present included BJP vice president Rekha Mahajan, general secretaries Baldev Singh Billawaria, Sanjita Dogra and Gopal Mahajan, along with district presidents, Morcha heads and other office-bearers.
