SRINAGAR: The Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) has placed two officials under suspension over alleged dereliction of duty and ordered a departmental inquiry into the matter.
According to an official order, Ghulam Hassan Sheikh, in-charge Ward Officer, has been placed under suspension with immediate effect, pending an inquiry and until further orders.
Joint Commissioner (Administration) Nuzhat Khurshid Qureshi has been appointed as the inquiry officer to examine the allegations, particularly those concerning the supervision and monitoring of unauthorised constructions within the officer’s jurisdiction. She has been directed to submit a comprehensive report with specific recommendations.
In a separate order, Jameel Mohammad Sheikh, Senior Building Inspector and in-charge Ward Officer, has also been placed under suspension for alleged dereliction of duty.
