Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Tourism has received the Best Tourist Destination Award at ITM Goa–2026, highlighting the Union Territory’s growing presence in the domestic tourism market.
The award was received on behalf of the department by Rashid Raina, Deputy Director Tourism Publicity, Kashmir, and Pankaj Sasan, Deputy Director Tourism Publicity, Jammu.
The J&K Tourism Pavilion attracted visitors and generated enquiries from members of Goa’s travel trade fraternity about the Union Territory’s tourism offerings. Tourism officials interacted with travel professionals and highlighted its natural landscapes, cultural heritage, adventure activities and emerging tourism experiences.
On the sidelines of the event, the visiting officials also visited the National Institute of Water Sports in Goa to explore possibilities for institutional collaboration and the promotion of water sports and adventure tourism in Jammu and Kashmir.
The department said the recognition would strengthen its efforts to expand tourism outreach, build industry partnerships and promote the Union Territory as a year-round destination.
