He directed officials to coordinate closely, address procedural bottlenecks and ensure that genuine beneficiaries do not face unnecessary delays in accessing the scheme’s benefits.

The commissioner also called for intensified awareness activities at the ward level, including awareness camps and assistance with online registration. He asked officials to ensure that applicants are informed about eligibility criteria, documentation requirements and application procedures.

Emphasising the role of Ward Officers and City Level Technical Cell (CLTC) experts, Qayoom directed them to assist applicants at the grassroots level, particularly families facing difficulties with online registration.

He stressed that effective public outreach and facilitation were necessary to ensure that no eligible household was excluded due to lack of information or procedural hurdles.

The meeting was attended by SMC’s Joint Commissioners, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, FA/CAO, Secretary, a representative of the J&K Housing Board, concerned tehsildars, representatives of the District Social Welfare Office Srinagar and the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, besides Ward Officers and CLTC experts.
