Chairing a review meeting with senior officials at the Banquet Hall in Srinagar, Sadiq stressed the need for interdepartmental coordination and directed that pending works be completed within stipulated timelines, wherever possible, before the onset of snowfall and severe winter conditions.

The meeting reviewed developmental projects, winter preparedness and public service delivery, with officials from the Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC), Health Department, Lakes Conservation and Management Authority (LCMA), Roads and Buildings Department (R&B), Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL), Srinagar Smart City Limited, Srinagar Development Authority (SDA), School Education Department and other departments in attendance.

Sadiq said uninterrupted electricity, drinking water supply, healthcare, sanitation and other essential services must be ensured during winter. He directed officials to address public grievances promptly and eliminate delays arising from a lack of coordination.

Several ongoing construction projects in Zadibal were reviewed, including the Bab-ul-Salam and Bab-ul-Noor gates at Dargah Hazratbal, Bab-ul-Zahra in Zadibal and the Sultan-ul-Arifeen Gate at Rainawari Chowk.

The meeting also assessed progress on the proposed Primary Health Centre (PHC) in Zadibal and road improvement works between Kathi Darwaza and Sangin Darwaza.

Issues concerning the Western Foreshore Road, sinking footpaths along Boulevard Road, drinking water supply in Zoonimar and Gali Kadal, and other works under the Public Health Engineering (PHE) Department were also discussed.

Sadiq directed the concerned departments to identify bottlenecks in pending projects and undertake corrective measures on priority.

He also stressed the need to improve sanitation across the constituency, strengthen healthcare facilities and address hospital- and school-related issues in Mir Behri Dal.

The meeting reviewed arrangements for the management and delivery of essential services during the approaching winter, with Sadiq asking officials to regularly monitor ongoing works and remain accountable to public concerns.

He said funds allocated to the constituency should be utilised judiciously and equitably to ensure that developmental projects translate into tangible benefits for residents.
