BARAMULLA: Police in Baramulla have executed a detention warrant under the Public Safety Act (PSA) against Hatif Bilal Sofi, son of Bilal Ahmad Sofi, a resident of Arampora, Baramulla.
Following his detention, Sofi was lodged at District Jail Anantnag in accordance with the prescribed legal procedure, police said.
According to police, he is involved in a serious criminal case involving allegations of murder, criminal conspiracy, offences related to explosives and arms, and activities punishable under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA).
Police said the action was taken to safeguard security and maintain peace and public order.
