SHOPIAN: The body of a newborn baby was recovered near Dubjan Bridge in south Kashmir’s Shopian district on Sunday, marking the second such incident in five days.
Officials told GNS that police reached the spot after locals reported the incident and recovered the body. It is currently at a local hospital, where prescribed procedures will be followed.
The circumstances surrounding the incident remain unclear, and an investigation has been initiated, officials said.
The recovery comes days after the body of another newborn was found at Dunaroo Keller on October 20. Locals had reportedly seen street dogs dragging the body before retrieving it.
