She secured her second gold in the women’s individual compound event, defeating Singapore’s Nur Syahidah Alim 142-138. She also partnered with Payal Nag to win silver in the women’s compound doubles event.

Sheetal scored 704 out of 720 points in the women’s compound qualification round, equalling the existing world record and establishing new Asian and Asian Para Games records, the Sports Council said.

In the mixed team qualification round, Sheetal and Toman Kumar scored 1,402 points to set a new world record.

Congratulating the archer, Sports Council Secretary Tazayun Mukhtar said her performance was a matter of pride for Jammu and Kashmir and the country.

She said Sheetal’s achievements would inspire young sportspersons, particularly aspiring para-athletes, and demonstrate the potential of athletes from the region.

The Council said it remained committed to promoting para-sports, strengthening grassroots participation and providing opportunities for athletes to excel at national and international levels.
