Kulgam: Dussehra was celebrated with religious fervour at KP Colony in Vessu, Kulgam district, on Tuesday, with Deputy Commissioner Shahzad Alam joining residents in the festivities and reviewing ongoing infrastructure works in the area.
During his visit, Alam interacted with residents and listened to their concerns, assuring them that the issues raised would be taken up with the concerned authorities. He also took stock of the progress of development works underway in the colony.
The celebrations included a prize distribution ceremony for children to recognise their talent and encourage participation in community activities. The programme concluded with the traditional burning of Ravana’s effigy, symbolising the victory of good over evil.
