Awantipora: Police seized five tippers allegedly involved in illegal mining during a checking operation at Hatiwara in Awantipora, officials said on Sunday.
A team from Police Station Awantipora seized the vehicles during routine patrolling as part of an ongoing drive against the illegal extraction and transportation of minerals.
Police have registered an FIR (No. 240/2026) at Police Station Awantipora under relevant provisions of law. Further legal action will be taken in accordance with the investigation, officials said.
