Jammu:  A total of 50 SDRF personnel and Civil Defence volunteers underwent a three-day residential training camp at Corps Battle School in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri, focusing on emerging security threats and emergency response, the Army said on Monday.

The Ace of Spades division of the Army’s White Knight Corps, under the aegis of Udhampur-based Northern Command, conducted the three-day residential training camp from October 17 to 19 in coordination with the Civil Defence Organisation and SDRF, Jammu and Kashmir, the Army said in a post on X.

The White Knight Corps said a total of 50 participants, including 16 SDRF personnel and 34 Civil Defence volunteers from Jammu, Doda, Samba, Akhnoor, Sunderbani, Nowshera and Rajouri, were trained in hybrid warfare, drone threats, information warfare, cyber threats, air raids and emergency response through practical demonstrations and hands-on training.

A defence spokesman said the camp was organised in line with the government’s vision of strengthening and modernising the Civil Defence network.

The Army conducted the ‘‘Train with Your Army’’ initiative under the theme “Sashakt Nagrik, Surakshit Rashtra” (Empowered Citizens, Secure Nation), he said.

The spokesman said the camp culminated on October 19, with outstanding trainees being felicitated by General Officer Commanding, Ace of Spades Division, Major General Manoj Kumar Ruria.

“The initiative reaffirmed the Army’s commitment to strengthening civil-military cooperation, enhancing community preparedness and building national resilience. By equipping Civil Defence volunteers and SDRF personnel with essential skills to address emerging threats and emergencies, the initiative underscored the importance of a well-prepared citizenry in ensuring a safer and more resilient nation,” the spokesman said.
