SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir Labour and Employment Department on Thursday said video clips circulating on social media from a review meeting held on October 14 had been selectively edited and could create a misleading impression of the proceedings.

The department said the meeting, chaired by the Secretary, Labour and Employment, from 3 pm to 6 pm, reviewed departmental performance across all 20 districts of Jammu and Kashmir. It added that the complete recording was available with the National Informatics Centre (NIC).

According to the department, the chair emphasised the expectations associated with Mission YUVA and urged district officers to ensure its effective implementation and timely delivery of benefits to eligible youth.

The department said official interactions must be guided by mutual respect, discipline and professional decorum, adding that provocative remarks and inappropriate language had no place in administrative engagements.

Expressing concern over the circulation of the clips without the full context, the department described them as unverified and said the matter would be taken to its logical conclusion in accordance with applicable rules and regulations.

It appealed to the media and the public to exercise caution and refrain from sharing or relying on unverified and sensationalised content on social media.

The department reiterated its commitment to youth empowerment, effective implementation of Mission YUVA and improved public service delivery across Jammu and Kashmir.
