The counter will provide fresh currency notes for offerings, religious rituals and routine transactions, adding to the banking services available at Bhawan.

Chatterjee said the initiative aimed to address pilgrims’ banking needs and improve convenience at the shrine. He said the bank operated branches, automated teller machines (ATMs) and cash recycler machines along the pilgrimage route from Katra to Bhawan.

He added that the bank’s team also assisted the Shrine Board in managing cash received as offerings at the shrine.

Vaishya said the Shrine Board was working to improve facilities for pilgrims through better amenities and institutional partnerships. He acknowledged the bank’s support in providing banking services to devotees, Shrine Board employees and the institution.

Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Pragti Kumar, J&K Bank Deputy General Manager Arjun Singh Rathore, Sub-Divisional Magistrate Bhawan Anshumali Sharma, Tehsildar Bhawan Mukesh Kumar Thapa, head priest Gopal Sharma and bank branch head Gourav Modi were among those present at the inauguration.
