Hyderabad: Advisor to Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Nasir Aslam Wani on Friday invited tourists from southern India to explore the region’s tourism attractions and urged runners from across the country to participate in the Kashmir Marathon scheduled for October 25 in Srinagar.
Addressing the media at the three-day Travel and Tourism Fair (TTF) Hyderabad 2026, where Jammu and Kashmir is participating as the partner state, Wani highlighted the region’s cultural heritage, landscapes and adventure tourism opportunities. He called for stronger tourism ties with Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and neighbouring states to attract more visitors.
Wani said the Kashmir Marathon could help promote the region as a destination for sports tourism while allowing participants to experience its natural beauty and hospitality.
He also stressed the need for closer collaboration between travel trade representatives in Jammu and Kashmir and Hyderabad to increase tourist arrivals and develop regional partnerships.
The Department of Tourism is showcasing winter and spring holiday experiences at the fair, including hospitality facilities, customised travel packages and emerging destinations beyond conventional tourist circuits.
The fair was jointly inaugurated by Telangana Tourism Minister Jupally Krishna Rao and Wani. A Jammu and Kashmir delegation led by the Advisor is holding discussions with tourism stakeholders and industry representatives to expand the region’s presence in the southern Indian market.
