Srinagar: Several delegations and individuals called on Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Thursday and discussed issues related to community welfare, trade promotion and socio-cultural development.
According to an official statement, All Jammu and Kashmir Panchayat Conference president Anil Sharma met the Lieutenant Governor and discussed matters concerning Panchayati Raj institutions.
Dr Jagmeet Kour Bali, chairperson of the All Sikh Minority Employees Association (ASMEA) and All Employees Joint Association (AEJAK), also called on the Lieutenant Governor and projected various issues concerning the Sikh community, including the promotion of the Punjabi language.
In a separate meeting, a delegation of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Kashmir (CCIK), led by its president Aatif Khan, discussed measures for the promotion of trade and industrial growth in the Union Territory.
Dr Mehjabeen Nabi, president and founder of CARE Foundation, also met the Lieutenant Governor.
Meanwhile, Atal Pithadishwar Rajguru Acharya Mahamandaleshwar Swami Vishwatamand Saraswati Ji Maharaj called on the Lieutenant Governor. He was accompanied by former District Development Council member from Vijaypur, Shilpa Dubey.
