KULGAM: MLA Kulgam M.Y. Tarigami on Tuesday reviewed the implementation of the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) in the district and stressed the need for timely completion of works and uninterrupted drinking water supply to residents.
At a meeting held at the Mini-Secretariat in Kulgam, Tarigami reviewed the progress of various JJM schemes, including household tap water coverage, the status of ongoing projects, functionality of water supply schemes and issues affecting drinking water availability.
He called for the prompt redressal of public grievances related to drinking water supply and JJM works, directing officials to address people’s concerns on priority and ensure that the benefits of the mission reach all eligible households.
The MLA also stressed the importance of maintaining regular and reliable water supply, particularly in areas facing persistent shortages and service disruptions. He asked the concerned agencies to remain responsive to public requirements and ensure effective implementation of the schemes.
Senior officers and officials from the Jal Shakti Department, Jal Jeevan Mission District Programme Management Unit (DPMU), Mechanical Division, Quality Control and Procurement Division, and other concerned agencies attended the meeting.
